Need help for adding videos to my site

I'm doing my first website with GeneratePress for a client and I'm using the Vinyasa template.

My client has a YouTube channel and wants his yoga video lessons on the website, however, most of his videos are set to 'Unlisted' on YouTube, so they don't appear on his YouTube channel or in YouTube search results and he currently sends people the link to each 'Unlisted' video lesson once they have paid him, by cash or by PayPal.

My question is how should I add these videos to the site, I am unable to embed them as they are not public on YouTube and I need a way to make them private on the new website until someone pays.

Should I upload the videos to the website on separate pages that would be password protected?

I’m really not sure the best way to do this and also his videos are huge 3 or 4 GB files.

Hope someone can help,

Cheers,
Chris

Hi there,

using a Protected Page to add the videos to is the simplest option.
More advanced options would be to use a Membership Plugin or Restricted Content Pro - this would allow registered members to access that content after a payment has been made.

Embedding the YT videos to the page - use a plugin like this:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-youtube-lyte/

It will stop the YT scripts from loading until the user clicks the video - which will make a hell of difference to loading times if you add multiple videos to a page.

Thank you very much, David, great advice, works like a charm, exactly what I needed to move forward.

Glad to be of help
