Hi,
I am trying to go with the mobile layout to see if it helps with the Google pagespeed insights.

My product search is located in the header.
When I switch to mobile the search is no longer there.

I "Enabled" the navigation search under -Appearance > Customize > Layout > Primary Navigation.
Now I have the search magnification glass. Great :)

My question is, can I have this enabled only on mobile since the primary search is active in desktop view.
I don't need both in desktop or tablet view.

Thank you.

Hi Leo,
Thanks but it still shows in desktop and tablet view.

I added the code in additional css.

Yes changing to flex did remove the additional search but messed up my product categories on the side.

I may try working on the site container width or? to see if I can adjust that.

Thanks again Leo.

The site is under maintenance mode now so I can't see the issue.

If you make it visible then I can try to offer some advice :)

Thank you.
I set it for you.

Hmm something doesn't look quite right.

Can you clear and disable your caching plugin first?

Deactivated.

I feel like you have a bit of HTML syntax error here.

I'm seeing a <strong> tag that wraps around the sidebar:

Can you check if you have any <strong> on that page without a closing </strong>?

Hi Leo,
I didn't see anything but I am going to do a bit of looking around.

It there a way to switch back to Floats from Flex?
I no longer see it in the customize under general.

Thanks

Hi Alec,

To switch back to float, you would need to revert to a previous version of your site which uses float through a backup file. If you weren’t able to save a backup file of your site, kindly ask your hosting provider if they have one saved.

Right now, the site seems to be in maintenance mode. Switching from float to flex usually doesn’t cause issues like these unless there’s custom code or a third party plugin conflict. If you prefer, you can share admin credentials to your site, and we’ll take a look at what’s causing the issue so you don’t have to switch on and off the maintenance mode.

You may use the private information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information

Hope to hear from you soon.

That would be great.

I would like to know how to fix it so I can adjust the main site from float to flex.

Thank you

Hi Alec,

The layout issue is because of the <strong> tag you added to the sidebar.
https://www.screencast.com/t/8xZ9empP4

The sidebar was set to 25% of the entire content container, but the <strong>tag made it to be 25% width of the sidebar itself. So it becomes extremely narrow.

I'm not sure how the<strong>tag has been added, can you check and try removing it?

Hi Ying,
I did look yesterday as well as this morning but don't have a clue.

If you click on a product and go to the product page the layout look fine.
The categories are on the left as they should be.

Seems to affecting only the shop page.

Thanks
