Hi I have a problem with the navigation search.
In my website I have added the navigation search from the wordpress customizer. I would like to display only the icon, by clicking on which the field to type opens (as happens for example in this site http://www.viaggi-usa.it), but it also adds a search field above the menu (see screenshot https://ibb.co/BKy8ffx). How can I do to display only the icon?
    Thanks

    Hi there,

    just to be clear:

what happens to the Navigation search currently being displayed in the (top) Secondary Navigation – does that remain ?

Hi David, not sure to have undestood your question, anyway I try to reply.
The search navigation in this example https://ibb.co/BKy8ffx is displayed in the Primary Menu and Off Canvas Menu (not secondary menu). When I click on the search icon the icon remains. But I am not sure to have understood correctly…

I wanted to know if you wanted to keep this search:

Ok – so by default the Theme doesn’t display the search icon there ( ie. the secondary navigation ).
Do you have this code added to your site to move it there:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/navigation-search/#use-navigation-search-in-secondary-navigation

If so can you remove that – and that will put the icon back into the primary nav. We can then look at the style changes you want to make.

Hi David, I think there is a misunderstanding, maybe I haven’t made myself clear.
I brought the site viaggi-usa.it as an example, but I would like the search icon to appear appropriately on another site, travelinusa.us.
In this site there is no code to move the search to the secondary navigation.
The issue is that, by inserting the search icon in the primary navigation, it gives me the result I sent you in the screenshot https://ibb.co/BKy8ffx
I would like only the icon to appear, not the white field above the menu.
I hope I have explained myself better now
    Thanks

Aah sorry for the misunderstanding. If you can enable the Navigation search on the travelinusa.us site i can take a look to see whats happening.

Since the website is online, I would like to avoid to enable it. Isn’t there another way to solve the issue?

By default the Nav search should behave exactly as the other site. So something else is interfering with that. Problem is i cant say what without seeing it. Can you create a staging site where the option can be enabled ?

Ok I have enabled. I would appreaciate much if you could check it as soon as possible…

    Thank you very much

Hmmm… the CSS for the nav search isn’t being loaded. Can you first try clearing your site caches. If the issue persists can you temporarily disable it so i can see whats going on … ill keep this topic in view so as not to cause any delay.

Solved, it was a cache issue. Thank you very much David!
