navigation menu and magazine grid width

Hi,
I set the navigation menu and magazine grid to "contained" so they will not span the entire length of the page but they're still set to full..what can be done about it? Thanks in advance.

On my desktop, it's still set to full width. I would have wanted to keep it full width but the magazine grid and the navigation menu are not too easy on the eyes..I mean it's too huge and a bit chaotic =) One way to tone it down is by shrinking it a bit..

go to Customizer > Layout > Container and try changing the Container width to 1100px.
