Hi,
I’m using the newest versions of GP and GP Premium and Elementor (Pro). I had a navigation that was fading in but now it just disappeared (after updating today).
When I try to say “no navigation” in the menu “navigation position”, save it and then set up again “above header”, my menu reappears. But as soon as I try to change anything about the settings (e.g., I change the setting for the navigation logo placement) – it disappears again.
So what I can achieve after several times going back to “navigation position” setting up “no navigation”, going back and so on – that I have a static navigation menu. When I go the the menu “sticky navigation” it is set up as fading in – but it stays static. When I change to “slide” – the menu disappears again.
No idea what went wrong…

DorotaJune 25, 2017 at 12:45 pm #338744LeoStaffCustomer SupportCan you check the disable element on that page? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/disable-elements-overview/
June 25, 2017 at 1:31 pm #338777DorotaHi Leo,
yes, the primary navigation is enabled. And the navigation reappears when I disable GP Premium. But disappears when I try to change the settings in GP Premium.

June 25, 2017 at 1:36 pm #338780DorotaThe header is disabled.
June 25, 2017 at 1:44 pm #338785LeoStaffCustomer SupportSorry can you try enabling the header? I’m not quite sure what layout you are trying to achieve.
June 25, 2017 at 1:55 pm #338800DorotaI have enabled the header but it did not change anything.
I’m trying to achieve what I had before the update: a fading in primary navigation: so no navigation when opening the page and appearing navigation when the viewer starts scrolling.
But this does not work anymore. Now the navigation is hidden by default. Although the settings are set to “fading in”. The navigation menu appears again when I a) change the setting for the position to “none”, b) save the settings, and c) change the settings to “above the header” again. But then, when I try to set it to “fading in” – it disappears again. (it also disappears when I try to change the setting for the navigation logo placement).June 25, 2017 at 2:48 pm #338820TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt looks like you have the Featured Image/Page Header option disabled in the Disable Elements meta box: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/disable-elements-overview/
June 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm #338840DorotaHi Tom,
yes, indeed. I tried that and the navigation menu reappears. BUT: it wasn’t like that before, right? Because I’m not using the “default” Featured Image/Page Header – my page headers are just full-width pictures in Elementor.
Do I have to change all my sites now to be able to have the sticky navigation again or is there another solution?
THX!June 25, 2017 at 3:11 pm #338851TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt’s always been like this – merging the header and content will wrap your header/navigation etc.. in the page header. Then hiding the page header will in turn hide the wrapped header/navigation.
If you use these instructions, you won’t need to hide the page header at all: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/merging-header-navigation-content/
June 25, 2017 at 3:32 pm #338854DorotaHi Tom,
I’m really confused because I cannot recall changing anything (other than updating)… But anyway: So now, the navigation is back – but how can I make it fade in now? So at first I want no navigation (only the full-width picture) and the navigation should fade in when scrolling. The sticky navigation is set to “fade in”.
With this setting, I have a navigation without scrolling and when I start scrolling it disappears shortly and appears again…
Thanks!June 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm #338908TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperTry using this CSS to hide it unless it’s sticky: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/sticky-nav-not-showing/#post-337111
