    Hello,
I have a problem with the WordPress Navigation block (https://wordpress.com/support/site-editing/theme-blocks/navigation-block/) which, I guess, is due to a conflict with how GP works.

    I do the following:
    – I add a navigation block in a page
    – I select an existing menu (i.e. “Main Menu ITA” https://prnt.sc/yQkiptu_ALIb)

From now on I’ll have 2 “Main Menu ITA”
    – the first one can be edited in Appearence > Menu
    – the second one can be edited by clicking on the Menu management link (https://prnt.sc/JO0_ePr4DAVW), which is only present at page level.

These 2 menu are different items, as editing one menu will not reflect on its copy.

I noticed that, when clicking on the Menu management link, I get redirected to a page which (I assume) is a section of the Full Site Editor (https://prnt.sc/TkmxZo0POAfh – see the browser bar in the screenshot). This area is only reachable via the Menu management link.

    Any hint?

    Thank you

    Hi there,

its how the Navigation Block works
When you add a Navigation Block to your page, it creates a static instance of that navigation menu.

It has no relationship to any menu you created in Appearance > Menus.
So making changes to the navigation block or the menu will not update the other.

If you make any changes you have to manually update the nav block.

Simply put… its not very good.

    Hi David,
thank you for the answer. Any plan to add a “Menu” block to Generateblocks? 🙂
    Bye,
    Antonio

No plans to add one at this time.
We may just make it easier to move the theme nav within a block built page.
