Navigate to a specific anchor from a different page

I have setup a custom link and anchor, when I click "About Us" on the Primary Navigation, it scrolls to the "About Us" section on the same page. If I am on a different page, for example "Contact Us", clicking the "About Us" on the Primary Navigation doesn't bring me back to that specific section (it doesn't do anything).
How do I move to a specific section of a page from a totally different page using the Primary Navigation?

If you add the full URL as the link (instead of just the #anchor), it should work.
