Nav Menu Hover Styling Affecting Button

Hi

I am trying to implement the hover effect here https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-menu-hover-animation/ but I have a button on the button which is also being affected by this effect. Is there a way of setting up the hover effect but not affect the button?
