[Support request] My table of contents stopped working

Hi,

For some reason, I did updates of plugins and all of the table of contents stopped showing on my posts.

Any ideas why this is or how to fix?

Example. https://middermusic.com/songs-with-girls-names-in-the-title/ no TOC showing even though I have the shortcode [toc] in the post.

Hi there,

the theme has no control over 3rd party plugins.
First check to see if the plugin is still enabled, and that its settings are correct.
Then clear any server / plugin caches.

If the issue persists i suggest reaching out to the plugin author.

I bulk-updated lots of plugins at the same time, so I’m not sure what plugin would have caused it?

Is there any way to find out?

in your Plugins list, is the Table of Contents plugin listed there ? And is it still activated ?

Yes, it is listed and yes, it is still activated as I want the Table of Contents to show.

For some reason, they stopped showing out of the blue, but I believe it was after updating loads of plugins.

How was the ToC Added to the Posts ? As is see a closing HTML comment for it on your site, just before the first H2 in the post ?

Manually added this shortcode to each post [toc].

It just weird that all of sudden stopped showing them!

if you can share an admin login in the private info, i can take a quick look at the backend and see if theres anything amiss.

In the meantime you may want to open a support topic with the ToC plugin author, just to get the ball rolling in case.

I logged in but can’t see anything obvious.

Does it work if you disable all plugins except GP Premium, GenerateBlocks and TOC plugin to test?

If this doesn’t help then you will need to consult with the plugin’s support team.
