my old theme had a separate blog section, transfer this content to gp

I previously used the rehub theme and this created a separate blog post type. however when i migrate my site from this theme to generate press, i lose all of the content in the post type.
do you know how i can activate generatepress to include this content?
i can only see manually copying the content over to work, but this will be very time consuming.
please let me know if you have any tips.
