My excerpt word count doesn't work anymore.

I have always used 15 words as my excerpt word counts for my blog roll. I added a new category today and that disrupted the number of words (15 words) I had customized for each blog in my blog roll. Now I seeing more than 15 words, ignoring my custom setting for 15 words. Can you help me please? Thank you.
