Multisite - Footer Widget Not Showing Up On One Sub-domain
7 replies · Started by Mary Pearson on March 25, 2017
Hi Tom,
On my sub-domain at https://chat.christiangays.com/ I can't get my footer widgets to show up.
All other sub-domains work fine.
Sidebar widgets work fine.
I have tried using from 1 to 4 widgets.
I have tried different widgets.
I have deactivated all plugins, including mu-plugins.
I have tried twenty-sixteen theme but it's not set up for footer widgets.
I have tried removing all custom css, functions.php, header.php & footer.php child files.
I'm running out of ideas of what to try next. Do you have any ideas?
Thanks!
Have you checked both the global and individual page settings?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/footer-widgets/
I have tried changing the global options to 1 - 4 widgets. It didn't make a difference.
I can't find page footer options, but I did find out one other thing. I thought the problem was with the whole sub-domain but it is totally restricted to that one page. All the other pages are fine.
You can't see this meta box while editing the page?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/footer-widgets/#change-the-number-of-footer-widgets-on-individual-pages-posts
No, I don't have that box on any of my sites.
At the top right of your edit page, click "Screen Options" and make sure the "Footer Widgets" checkbox is checked.
OMG Tom, that's all it was! Thank you so much! I have never seen that option before.
VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!
You're welcome :)
