Multi Footer Widget Span

Hello.
I must be overlooking a setting somewhere and was hoping someone could help point it out at their earliest convenience.
What I am trying to accomplish is to have a footer widget span across two widget areas. Why? Because it would be wider that way. Then the third widget area is intact.
From this:
[_] [_] [_]
into this:
[ _ _ ] [_]
I hope the above displays correctly. Let me know if there is no setting for this. This will help let me know that it must be accomplished with CSS. Thank you!

There's no setting for this (yet) - but it is possible.
