Hi.

I built my new website to my needs on a different domain.

Now I have just moved my website to the intented domain but all sections are gone now - are they lost?

Did I do anything wrong? I replaced the olr URL with the new URL in the database but I can't tell if this was causing it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

can you check the Sections module is still enabled in Appearance > GeneratePress.

Yes it is enabled. I also see the check box in the backend of the page.

Luckily the whole code was in the regular editor box so I made everything new with some minor adjustments (background color, margins and custom CSS were lost).

So this topic is solved or not? I mean I do not need any help anymore but it was rather a workaround than a solution.

BTW: GP is a great theme and you guy are great as well! :-)

Hi there,

Doing a find/replace of URLs in the database can cause issues like this with post meta.

Usually, it's better to go with a plugin like Velvet Blues Update URLs: https://wordpress.org/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/

There's a handful of others as well. They specifically only replace URLs in your content/meta and leave things like GUIDs alone.

Glad you got things back to the way they were :)
