More padding options, e.g. top bar

Am I missing something or is there no way to add padding to some elements, e.g. top bar, primary menu?

I know I can just do my own CSS to override it, but one would think that is in the customiser settings. I am yet to check other elements but I suspect there will be others that also have no padding setting options.

Padding being an addon for the premium version I would have thought padding settings should be available for all elements/sections.

Cheers

Hi Sneaky,

Spacing for the Top bar can be located in Appearance > Customize > Layout > Top Bar: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/top-bar-widget-area/#spacing

https://share.getcloudapp.com/bLuB6kZp

For specific top bar widgets, you should also be able to set padding values if you’re using GB Blocks.

For the Primary and Secondary menu, the spacing may be modified through these settings: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/menu-item-height-width/

May we know what specific spacing setting you’re looking for?

Kindly let us know. :)

My mistake, I had the merge with secondary navigation on.

Sorry, I am still learning the new settings after using another theme for many years.

No worries! Glad you figured it out! :)

Actually, I am not sure I am doing it right.

I may be looking at my request the wrong way and using it the wrong way.

I seem to be getting my secondary location (above header) and top bar widget mixed up. What is the better option, set the secondary nav to "above header" or add it to the top bar as a widget?

I will retest that and come back and report if I can resolve it or not.

I see. Well, this is a matter of preference. You can probably try either setting and see which suits you best.

Noted. Let us know if you’ll need further assistance, and we’ll do our best to help you.
