    I want that when modifying a post, when it increases its content, the date of modification appears. How can I do it?

    Ok, I add this in Css:

    .posted-on .updated {
    display: block;
    }

    Now the post show 2 dates: Creation and Modification date:

    For example: https://www.jmpacheco.com/como-hacer-un-curriculum-vitae/

    I wonder if with this action Google will read the modification date for indexing?

    Yep, Google knows which is the published date and which is the modified/updated date.

    Ok, I’ve requested indexing in Search Console. In a few days I will see if it takes the date of modification in the SERP. Hope so… Thanks πŸ™‚

    Yes Tom, but it only sounds good … πŸ™
    As of today it continues to catch 2016 on the date.
    Also in the url is catching the category, instead of the actual url. Guess it’s for the breadcrumbs?

    The elements are there: https://www.screencast.com/t/uBO2sewt

    It just may take some time for Google to update it.

    Hi Tom,

    It has been a few days and Google changes the title and meta-description if I change it, but doesn’t change the date of modification of the post. It’s very weird. I think as the creation date is shown first, it takes the first date.

    Is there a way that when the date of a post is modified, only the modification date appears and the creation date disappears?

    Would you want to completely remove the creation date, or just hide it?

    Seems strange, as Google should be smart enough to know which is which.

    Today has taken the date of modification of that post, great !!
    But it turns out I’ve changed the permalinks including the category on url. I do not know if that is why he has taken it back. I think that if I had not changed the permalinks url, Google could still show be the same date of creation.

    On the other hand what I would like you to do in GeneratePress is that once a post is modified, only the modification date appears. I think the issue of having two dates together is very rare for the public and for Google.
