Mobile version not fixed, like zoomed
5 replies · Started by Dejan on February 14, 2022
Hi,
I have a problem with the mobile version. When it loads it's like zoomed, you can scroll the website left and right, it's not fixed. I have to "unzoom" the site and then it is fixed and can scroll correctly only up and down.
What could be the problem?
Thanks,
Dejan
Hi Dejan,
I'm not seeing horizontal scroll issue on your homepage on mobile, is there any specific page I should be looking at?
Have you tried on other mobile devices?
Let me know :)
`Hi Ying,
Well I just checked again, both on iOS and Android, Safari and Chrome and it has the same problem. The homepage though is fine, it works properly, but when you go to any post initially there is a horizontal scroll issue. Once you zoom out it goes away and you have to close the browser to happen again, just going to a new page will keep the page zoomed out.
Please take a look again.
Thanks,
Dejan
I see the issue on posts, are you using any plugin on the posts?
If so, can you disable all plugins except GP premium to test?
If the issue is gone, try re-activate plugins one at a time to find out which plugin is causing the issue.
Let me know!
I've just tried that, deactivated all plugins, cleared cache of course, but still the same issue. Though I found the problem. I'm using Ezoic ads, as well as their Leap performance optimization toolset, and under the Minify tab, "minify CSS" was actually causing the problem.
There was another problem, the Search icon in the menu was not working. Again, in Ezoics Leap, under CSS, "Remove Unused CSS" was causing the problem.
So I turned them both the website is working fine, no horizontal scroll and the search icon works.
I tried testing the website speed with PageSpeed Insights, and it seems fine even with those two options disabled. Though, I get a not that I should "Remove Unused CSS".
So, is there anything we can or we should do about all of this, or I should just leave things now as they are, with those two settings disabled?
Thanks,
Dejan
Hi Dejan,
CSS minification may cause various issues and one way to avoid this is to disable it entirely or if there is a way to exclude certain files from this, then that would probably work. Maybe Ezoic can assist you regarding this.
Here is an article you may read regarding this: https://elegantmarketplace.com/what-is-minification-and-why-is-it-wreaking-havoc-with-so-many-websites/
Moreover, as for unused CSS, here is a thread you may refer to as to why this may cause issues:
Hope this clarifies your question. :)
