Paul
I was checking some content changes on a client website on my phone using the Chrome browser. I noticed that the mobile menu works properly on some pages and not on others. When it doesn’t work, the main page darkens but the expanded mobile menu never appears on the right side of the screen. Pricing page works properly but the Homepage and Varieties page do not.
Update. Seeing the same issues with the same pages on Firefox. Mobile menu on the Blog page doesn’t work, but it seems to work on individual blog pages. Contact page also doesn’t work.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
I don’t believe this is a GP issue – we haven’t received other reports on this.
Any chance you can disable all plugins and custom functions except GP Premium and GenerateBlocks to eliminate conflicts from other plugins first?
Make sure to activate the parent theme if you are using a child theme as well.
Let me know 🙂

Hi Leo,
I have two sites on GeneratePress, some others on Astra and some others on Genesis. I’ve never seen this issue before. Here are some of the odd aspects of this.
1. The customizer on the affected site shows the mobile menu working normally on all pages. This is what I see by clicking the mobile view option in the customizer window. The only reason I noticed something amiss is that I checked the site with my iPhone. So how could a plugin cause the customizer to misrepresent the operation of the mobile menu — on only some pages? This site uses the Health starter site.
2. I also checked my other GeneratePress site and it works normally. That site uses the Coach starter site.
3. I use the same plugins on most of my sites. This the only site affected by the problem.
4. I think there’s a bug in the Health Starter site. The menu structure on the Health starter site is different from the Coach starter site. The fact that the bug is only be discoverable by checking the live site and not relying on the customizer means that the chance of someone finding and reporting the problem is small.

Hi Paul,
It could be another plugin causing a script not to work. Can you try #1 here to debug: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
It’s recommended to back up your site before proceeding with this.

Hi Fernando,
I think we’ll have to agree to disagree. How would a plugin causing a script not to work cause the customizer to misrepresent the operation of the mobile menu on SOME pages?
Unfortunately, I think the debugging steps you recommend would be a waste of time.
I’ll either switch the site to another GeneratePress starter site or I’ll switch it to Astra.

Well, if it works for other pages and not for others, the usual cause is a caching/optimization plugin. We’ve had multiple customers having the same issue. This is the reason why we suggest disabling plugins.
But, to clarify, is there already a menu assigned to the Off Canvas Menu in Appearance > Menus? Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/12u7z6G0

There was a social menu assigned to the Off Campus menu. I unchecked the box, cleared cache and it made no difference.

StaffCustomer SupportAre you able to disable all non-GP plugins so we can go through some proper debugging steps?
If this is a live site with traffic then please start a staging site.
The debugging step is required to identify the culprit.
Thanks!

I’ve created a staging site and the login credentials will get you there.

StaffCustomer SupportCan you provide the staging site info in the private info box?
Please disable all non-GP plugins for us to test as well.
Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportI checked before asking again but I’m not seeing it.
The only private info I see in this thread is a login token for your main site.
Can you please provide the staging site URL, username and password?
Thanks!
