Mobile "Menu" has nothing inside it

Hi I just discovered that the menu (expands from the 3 line icon) in mobile mode has no content inside it.
I can't really figure out why the mobile menu would have nothing when tablet and desktop have stuff in them.

OK so the one thing that confuses me about that, it only by mobile menu is off-canvas. So if i just set 'primary menu' off canvas. Won't that mess up my desktop/tablet menus too?
You can create a new menu with the desired items:

Then assign it to Off Canvas:

Is that new or have I just never had a mobile menu and not known it?
That option has been there for a long time :)
