Hi guys,
For some reason my mobile font size/line height isn’t being pulled across from the customize settings in typography. I have set body font size 23, line height 2, paragraph margin 1.8em.
However, on mobile none of these CSS changes are displaying. The font size is tiny and the line height is all bunched up.
I have added this custom CSS below to make the font a little bigger, but even then it doesn’t seem like it’s font-size 23, and it doesn’t have the line height or paragraph height:
@media (max-width: 768px){
p {
font-size: 23px;
}
}Website: https://www.greatbritishbucketlist.com/
Should I continue to make custom CSS changes specifically for mobile, or is there something I am doing wrong?
If you could help me out with this that would be brilliant.
Cheers,
Macca

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
i can see the font size change on mobile as per your CSS – have you tried clearing browser caches to make sure you’re seeing the latest version.

Hi David,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have indeed cleared all caches. I have now deleted the custom CSS so hopefully you can see it better.
When I’m using the layout/typography settings in mobile mode with the GeneratePress customizer, I can see the changes on my laptop.
However, when I use my phone (either on WiFi or 3G), that’s where I notice the small font and line height.
Cheers,
Macca

StaffCustomer SupportHi Macca,
I checked your site on my phone, it looks fine.
Which part do you think the font is too small? The excerpt on home page? If so, customizer settings won’t apply on these excerpts since they are not default WP excerpt.
Let me know if there’s anything we can help with.

Hi Ying,
I’ve uploaded a screenshot of what I’m currently seeing at the moment – https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FzKbMoCHepI7sJha0vJ0fsO5eSWalPKb/view?usp=sharing
I can’t work out if I’m seeing an unflushed version of my website where none of the CSS changes are being pulled through.
I have cleared all chaches and browser chaches a number of times, but I’m still seeing the font CSS not expressing properly.
Also, the other changes I made to the images yesterday (centrering and italicizing them) don’t seem to be showing despite being in the custom CSS panel.
Not quite sure what’s going on with this one, and if what I’m seeing is the same as what everyone else is seeing.
Cheers,
Macca

StaffCustomer SupportWithout the cache plugin enabled i am seeing the same styles applied to Mobile and Desktop.
Can you check after clearing browser caches to confirm that your end?March 18, 2021 at 7:22 am #1700511Macca
Hi David,
As you said, I’m probably seeing an old version of the site from my ISP.
I have just cleared everything and it’s all looking good to me, so thank you very much for that, I appreciate it all.
This has now been resolved!
Cheers,
Macca

Hi David,
It seems like a load of my changes that I’ve made are no longer expressing on the frontend again.
I have disabled Autoptimize to see if this was a plugin conflict, but I’m still not seeing the changes or the most up-to-date version of my site.
This is a screenshot of a page on mobile – https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BNgEeUfJEPnrF4-qCjhaFe__23aaDT86/view?usp=sharing – this was taken using 3G data from a friend outside of London. As you’ll see, the font size and image caption CSS changes I’ve made recently aren’t displaying correctly and keep reverting back.
Is there any way I can fix this?
Cheers,
Macca

StaffCustomer SupportCan you share a link to that particular post or page ? Ill take a look.
Chances are that the page has been cached by the ISP….March 23, 2021 at 12:44 am #1706057Macca
Hi David,
I think it’s all pages, but you can see it here – https://www.greatbritishbucketlist.com/great-british-experiences/
Sorry to ask, it’s really difficult knowing if CSS changes have taken affect when the ISP cache doesn’t clear. It just feels like a lot of my changes are reverting a lot.
Cheers,
Macca
