Hello!
In some cases, there is no space between the number and the comment text (https://prnt.sc/uvavkk, https://prnt.sc/uvay6z).
Respectfully yours, Pavel
October 8, 2020 at 4:46 am #1478255DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
thats odd – as the space is included within Comments Link function.
It seems to be only affect the links where there is more that 1 comment.Did you have use any functions to change/translate the text ?
October 20, 2020 at 2:52 am #1496666ПавлоHello David,
I don’t use any third-party plugins.
For verification, also via FTP, I first deleted all the translations, then installed the translations again through the admin panel. The problem hasn’t gone away.
Also noticed a similar problem with labels on a separate page – there is no space between words (https://prnt.sc/v2xy6r).
Respectfully yours, Pavel
October 20, 2020 at 9:57 am #1497387TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperStrange, I thought maybe it was the translation, but it looks ok here: https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-themes/generatepress/uk/default/?page=9
What happens if you manually update it?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/uploading-translations/#generatepress-theme
October 20, 2020 at 10:06 am #1497397ПавлоHello Tom,
The fact is that there is no required one among these lines.
The problem line should look exactly like this: “коментарі”
Respectfully yours, Pavel
October 20, 2020 at 1:51 pm #1497636TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperThe comments one is from here: https://github.com/tomusborne/generatepress/blob/master/inc/structure/post-meta.php#L278
So it’s
% Comments
.Which you can find near the bottom here: https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-themes/generatepress/uk/default/?page=9
The comments and tags issue is actually on the same line – it’s been “translated” but the space has been removed. I’ve just “suggested” the space be added back, but an editor needs to approve it.
Just to confirm – is your site using Ukrainian as the language? The word for comments doesn’t seem to match your screenshot. I wonder if it’s an old translation?
October 21, 2020 at 1:02 am #1497969ПавлоHello Tom,
Yes, my site uses Ukrainian.
This word has the following variants:
1 – коментар
2, 3, 4 – коментарі
5, 6, 7 … – коментарівThe second and third paragraphs do not have a space.
You can see it on the blog page https://malynevskyi.com/blog/.
Screenshots are attached (https://prnt.sc/v3mk70, https://prnt.sc/v3mixb).In the provided form, only the first and second items are present (https://prnt.sc/v3mnb3).
Best regards,
PavelOctober 21, 2020 at 1:12 am #1497979ПавлоHello Tom,
One more question.
If I change the translation locally, after you update the translation files, will my changes be saved?
If not, how can this be avoided?Best regards,
PavelOctober 21, 2020 at 9:21 am #1498680TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHave you tried updating the translation files yet?
The best thing to do is correct any issues at the URL I provided – then I can request that you become an editor so we can get them approved. Then the issue will be fixed and you won’t lose any changes if they ever update.
October 21, 2020 at 9:52 am #1498718ПавлоOk, add me @malinevskiy to the list of editors.
October 21, 2020 at 1:07 pm #1498912TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHave you suggested any translations to the project, yet? They’ll deny the request if you haven’t.
Let me know – thank you! 🙂
