Missing Something In Hiding Title...
7 replies · Started by Agnes on March 17, 2021
I'm wanting titles on certain blog posts and pages that differ from my SEO title, so have been trying to use the theme's hide content titles function. I've tried the layout metabox way, and going through the elements function on my dashboard to create a rule. Both methods result in a grayed out title when I'm in edit mode, so it seems to be working, but the titles are still there when I publish the changes and look at the actual page/post.
Am I missing a step?
Hi there,
Any chance you can link us to the site in question?
You can use the private information field.
Let me know :)
It's my staging site, so hopefully this is visible!

That top title is what I'm looking to hide, what would be my SEO title.
The top title is added with a page hero/header element:

Let me know if this helps :)
I'm not looking to add a header, but to hide the main title on some of my pages. It's already hidden via the layout metabox, and I tried creating a rule to hide content titles, too. No dice!
Hi Agnes,
I just inspected your post, the title is actually no long there, the one you see is from a header element.
Go to appearance > elements, check if there's a header element assigned to posts, disable it or excludes the specific posts from it in display rule.
Let me know :)
That did it. Thank you! There was a global page header in there that I assume was from the theme template I downloaded. Appreciate it!
No problem :)
Glad to help!
