Missing color control in Section>Settings
5 replies · Started by Julian on December 17, 2017
Yesterday I was building a page with sections. I set a different background color for each section by copying and pasting a hex code into the color entry field.
Now, today there are no color entry fields. All I can do is select a color from the color picker square (see screen shot - https://imgur.com/a/fEVGn). Which is not good as the exact colors I want cannot be defined.
Have I inadvertently deactivated a control, and if so, how do I reactivate it?
Hi there,
There isn't a setting for the color box.
I suspect it's a plugin conflict. Can you try #1 here? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
Let me know.
I should have thought of that. The conflict is with the plugin redCountdown
Thanks
No problem!
I have the exact same problem. The site with the missing section color setting does not run the redCountdown plugin. Maybe another plugin is conflicting, although I tried deactivating the usual suspects without success.
Even so, if section color setting suddenly conflicts with multiple plugins, is there a problem?
Is there a way to duplicate a section? This would be a workaround.
Hi there,
There shouldn't be a problem with sections itself (sections hasn't changed in a while) - we haven't received any other reports other than this one.
Can you try disabling All non-GP plugins to see if it fixes the issue?
Currently there's no way to duplicate a section within the plugin. However you can try something like this I believe: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/duplicate-pages/#post-327031
