Richard
Hi there,
In my Google Search Console I have the following structured data errors:
missing: author
missing: updatedI understand this is an issue only with static pages and not blog posts. Several forum threads have suggested that it may be caused by the theme itself rather than a WordPress error or Google’s webmaster tools and I think my search engine ranking may be affected. Help on this issue would be much appreciated!
Many thanks in advance

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
Can you link me to the page where this is happening? It shouldn’t be happening, for example: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool?url=http%253A%252F%252Fdemo.generatepress.com%252Fcontent-sidebar%252F

It’s happening to all of my pages, my blog posts are fine though.
My site is hairgeezer.com
Thanks

Hi Richard. I just ran the following pages on https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/. Is this the same Google Search Console “structured data” you’re referring to? None of these pages generated any errors:
http://hairgeezer.com/hair-styling-products/hair-gel-reviews/vo5-sculpted-gels-range/
http://hairgeezer.com/hair-removal/cartridge-disposable-razors/gillette-sensor-3-disposable-razors/

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperPages are looking good to me as well with the testing tool: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool?url=http%253A%252F%252Fhairgeezer.com%252Fhair-removal%252Fcartridge-disposable-razors%252F

I used the same tool and got the same result, BUT the errors still appear in the listing like so:

If it wont impact my SEO and its not a theme problem I wont bother you with it any longer
Many Thanks

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt won’t hurt your SEO, but it is technically a theme thing.
The “solution” would be to include the post date and author name on static pages, which I don’t think anyone wants.
