Hello Tom,

Two screenshots here: ONE and TWO

1) When at Home page, the navigation highlights Blog. (it should highlight no page)

2) When at Events page, the navigation highlights Blog. (it should highlight events page)

At About and Contact Page, Navigation highlights are fine.

What I am doing wrong?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Mizan,

1. Is your homepage set to be the blog?

2. Some plugins mistakenly tell WordPress that they're on the blog page (bbPress is one).

Is this site live so I can take a look around?

Hi Tom,

Here is the site in question.
Bangladesh Circle

I have the following setting in READING setting of WP
Front page: --Select--
Post page: Blog

Yes, it seems like the theme is giving away my Front Page info by highlighting the Nav bar. Maybe, it can be fixed in upcoming updates if this is theme related issue.

Thanks Tom.

Hm, well you should definitely have something set as your Front Page - it should either be a static page or your blog.

On the Events page, this is being added to the "Blog" menu item: current_page_parent

WordPress handles all of the class additions to the menu items, so it can't be fixed through the theme.

You may have to contact the author of the Events plugin and check to see if this is a known issue for them.

I think I will make a home page and will fix this.
I also suspected the Event pluging by Modern Tribe. I will contact them.
Thanks Tom. :)

No problem :)

Tom,

Is there a quick fix already for the bbpress not showing proper highlighting in the navigation menu?

Seems to still be an active bug in bbPress: https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2204

Are you having an issue with it highlighting the blog while on the forum? There is some jQuery I could write up that might be an ok temporary fix.
