I plan to migrate the theme from a test-server to a live site. The important thing to know is that the test-site is on http, the new site is on https.

What do I need to save and then re-upload? How do I do this best?

    – the child theme
    – what about the settings in the customizer?
    – all the settings I’ve made in GP premium?
    – anything else?

Do I need to click all these buttons, the on the live site, import them all one by one?

Also, can I rename the child-theme folder without consequences?

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

I would use a plugin like Duplicator or All in One Migration.

These plugins will handle all of the above for you automatically, including any URL changes.

If you rename the child theme folder, you may need to re-activate it in the Dashboard.

Let me know if you need more info 🙂

Thanks Tom, but wouldn’t that be kind of overkill? All I want to change is the theme, no articles, other WP-settings, plugins, etc…

I’ve taken a look at the mentioned plugins, and I think that’s definitely overkilled.

If I would do it manually, what would I need to do?

    Thanks again,
    Eddie

    Ah, I misunderstood.

In that case, you would just export each of those modules, then import them one by one. A one click backup solution is coming to GPP 1.6.

If you’re changing URLs, you’ll need to re-upload your site logo, navigation logo and mobile header logo (if you’re using them). Or you can use a plugin like Velvet Blues Update URLs.
