We are migrating a large woocommerce site previously build using shopkeeper theme and wp-bakery. I have started by activating the generatepress premium theme. We aim to rebuild each page using generate blocks. In the short term we would like to see if we can get the wp-bakery pages to display more or less correctly in the new theme. The main problem seems to be the top hero image from wp-bakery. It was set to display across the whole screen, but now with generate press is displaying with a significant amount of padding on the left and right. It there a simple way of moving forward without immedietly having to rebuild every page using generat blocks?

    Hi there,

if your WP-bakery content is set to full width / container content then you can set the Content Container to Full Width:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-container/

If you want to apply that change globally ( entire site ) or on specific pages etc then you can use the Layout Element to do the same thing:

Thanks david, that is really helpful. I have set it up site wide as you detailed using a layout element. How do i set up exceptions for specific pages. So for example on my shopping cart page etc i dont want the container to be set full width. I have tried going to the cart page itself and adjusting the container setting to “contained” but it didnt work?

In the Layout Element > Display Rules use the Exclude option eg. Page > Cart. For the Shop page you would use: Product Archives it its using the standard Woo templates
