Migrated Pages Not Showing GenerateBlocks
5 replies · Started by Leslie on April 27, 2021
Hello,
I just migrated my Squarespace pages and posts to WP in a staging site and am using Generatepress Pro and downloaded the Generateblocks plugin. When I go to edit one of my existing pages or posts and click on Block on the right task bar it only shows Classic editor. If I create a new page however, then I see the Generateblocks block options on the right. Why can't I see Generateblocks with my migrated pages?
Is there any way to edit my migrated pages/posts with Generateblocks or am I stuck with the classic editor?
Thanks for your help,
Leslie

Thanks for your assistance.

By this did you mean "Wordpress.com"? If yes, are you using the business plan?
I'm not sure if WordPress.com hosting allows users to use plugins for plans lower than business plans.

Existing page's blocks don't automatically get converted to GenerateBlocks. And a page created with Classic editor doesn't automatically get translated smoothly to Gutenberg blocks either.
These things have to be done manually. You can try selecting the content in "classic editor" and attempt to convert it to blocks as shown here - https://share.getcloudapp.com/8Lubq4Bq - but its not 100% perfect conversion. Some paragraphs created from classic editor will convert to paragraph blocks but not to the desired formatting from time to time.
If you want to convert pages to GenerateBlocks, you'll have to rework the page layout using GenerateBlocks' blocks.
POK, Thank you
No problem. :)
