I have looked for an answer to this but nothing that relates specifically to my site. On mobile, my menu items do not show at all.

that site is using the Off Canvas Panel on mobile. And this doc explains that issue:

TLDR: Go to Appearance > Menus, edit your Menu, and in the Locations, also check: Off Canvas
