[Resolved] menu item page "not found"

Hi,

Fantastic theme!

This week did a fresh WP install and your theme too. Am using GP free, for the meoment, amy get add-ons depending on client feedback.

Menu item pages are getting a “page not found error. Am using the WP menu out of the box, not the GP theme menu.

I’ve deactivated each plugin, still happens.

Also have linked to the page using the word press numeric URL such as http://domain.com/?p=123 and still happens.

Figured it was time to ask if this could be GP related.

Followup:

Using the GP menu did not fix the menu item page “not found”

When I do a “view page” when editing the page that is included in the menu dropdown it also gets a “not found”

Have found a solution, but its not intuitive

When the child page is defined to Word Press as a main page without a parent and the GP menu indicates the page is a child then the page does not get the “not found”

1 – set up the GP menu under Menus and select it in Customize
2 – set up the child page as a main page, without a parent
3 – in the Menus page indent the page under its parent and the menu will show it as a child and the page can be linked to

I still don’t have any idea if this is a GP or a WP issue ??

Hi Don,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

If you’re receiving a 404 not found error, it most likely has to do with your permalinks being broken – this is a WP issue.

Go to “Settings > Permalinks” and select “Post name” – now save.

Are you still receiving the 404 errors?
