Menu item in header background

Hi,
When I add a page to my website it is automatically added as a menu item over my header background image. I only want the page added as a menu item in my secondary navigation area (where the menu bar is supposed to be), not both places. How can I get rid of the menu item over the background image?

Hi there,
make sure you have a Menu assigned to the Primary Navigation Location, otherwise WP will automatically populate the menu with any top level pages.
