Hi, GP-team!
There is a custom made widget (right widget) in the Market theme.
I like the widget to only be visible on the homepage so I downloaded a plugin to make it invisible on other pages. However, when I create a new, blank page there are 2 widgets that does not exist in the dashboard>Widgets. The first one is the same orange box (similar ti the one in the default page) but with a “search” field in it. The 2nd widget is a box saying “Archive”. (I had this problem with GP on another site I made which resulted in a lot of stress and suffering). How do I get rid of this???
Thanks!
January 7, 2020 at 2:42 pm #1125095LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
So basically you only want a sidebar on the home page?
If yes then set the global sidebar option to No Sidebar:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/#sidebar-layoutThen use the metabox option for the home page:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/#different-sidebar-layouts-for-individual-pages-and-postsHere is the explanation for the default widgets:

January 8, 2020 at 6:28 am #1125546JacobThanks again Leo!
Ok, but if I would like to keep the space for the content as it is on a page with the side wiget but without showing the widget? I mean, when I take away the side widget the text gets presented in a full width container. Would it be possible to keep the same container as I have on the Homempage (with a Side widget) on pages that do not use widgets? Or could I set the space for the container manually for specific pages?
Thanks again for great service! I am really impressed by the service of GP!
Thanks, Jacob
January 8, 2020 at 2:18 pm #1126147LeoStaffCustomer SupportYou can create a layout element to set container width for specific page(s) or post(s).
Let me know if this helps 🙂
January 11, 2020 at 12:50 pm #1129189JacobThanks Leo, that helps. However, with the elemnt function the width of the “feautered image” also changes. I would like to keep the image in the same size as it is now and only change the container width.. Is it possible to do that?
Thanks!
January 11, 2020 at 4:13 pm #1129272LeoStaffCustomer SupportUnfortunately, the featured image is inside the content container so it will change the width of the container.
You can consider removing the padding around the featured image to make it bigger?
