Make new template with Canvas > Choose new Template (also using GP)

I need a set of pages with a different header and footer. I thought the best way would be to use the Elementor Canvas theory. I went to Templates > Create New > Started with Canvas and saved. When I view Templates, it's there with a short code. But when I build a new page, that new template doesn't appear in the list of templates I can use. How do I get it to be an option to use? Is there a better strategy for 6 pages that need to not have my menu and footer on it?

I'm not sure how Elementor Canvas works but if the goal is to create 6 pages without the menu and footer then you can just create a layout element for it:
