Make first blog post image featured image
1 reply · Started by Sophie on January 11, 2022
I am currently using a staging site to get the aesthetics of my website to where I want them before launching with GeneratePress. With my previous theme, the first image from each blog posts was pulled as the featured image to be displayed within categories etc. This is not the case with GeneratePress so within categories, I have no images displaying for blog posts. How can I make the first image of each blog post automatically the featured image - I don't want to have to manually add the featured image for hundreds of posts?
Thank you so much.
Hi there,
you will need a plugin like this:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-featured-images/
Then to stop them from appearing on the single post you can:
1. Enable the Blog Module in Appearance > GeneratePress
2. In Customizer > Layout > Blog --> Featured Images, select the Posts tab and uncheck: Display featured images
