Make Banner response / not create white bars on higher resolution

Hello dear GP team,
on my website I created a banner on each page with different images. All images have the size 2048 by 683 pixels which look good on average screens and mobile. However when I zoom out to simulate screens with higher resolutions I do see the image creating white bars left and right meaning the image does not adapt responsively.
How can I implement that?

select the Container Block that has the background image, in the Background size field, enter: cover
