I’m sorry, I want to change a few things about how posts show up in searches, in the main blog page, and in single page display.

I want to delete the author (guest authors are credited in the blog and I wish to remove the authors from the users as they never really go in anyway), I want to add a “last updated” for posts and sort on that and also, when I’m logged in, have an “edit this” link.

I had this working in an early WordPress theme, but I can’t seem to easily figure it out in Generate Press. I have a child theme set up (though I configured the site in the GP theme, not the child, but it seemed to carry across.

Can you point me in the right direction?

    Thanks!

    Richard

    Hi there,

Author can be removed here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/blog-content-layout/

    Last updated: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/modified-post-date/#post-171970

Not sure what you mean by edit this link?

That was easy…I got rid of the author and then changed the date from the created date to the updated date.

“Edit This” was on one theme when I logged in, I got a link to edit the post. Not necessary.

The one thing I still can’t do is SORT the posts on EDITED rather than POST date.

That was why I thought I might need a child theme.
