Losing my header image (logo) in Child Theme

I have browsed the forums looking for a solution and I can seem to find one. I have created my child theme per the instructions found in the knowledge base and I did not @import or enqueue anything in the child's style.css or functions.php files just the basics. When I activate the child theme my header images disappears. I then when to the customizer and added the image back in and saved but once I go to veiw it is gone again. Everything is fine when I switch back to the main generatepress theme again.

So you have a blank child theme activated, yea?
Then you go to "Customize > Site Identity" and upload a logo.
Then when you save and refresh, the logo is gone? Not saved anymore?
Yes, to all the above. I deleted the child and reload still the same thing happens I even tried a different logo and still the same? I on my localhost (mamp) I don't know if that is a problem or not. The main theme works great.
I love the theme! Can wait to use it more!
Fixed the problem !! I had to go back to the main theme and remove the logo then switch over to the child theme and add it back in. Works Great!
That's strange, I'll have to look into that.
