Logo size outside container

I've followed the instructions to float the logo outside the container here:

Works fine except the logo image itself isn't displayed at the right size and as result appears blurred. I have set the height (and width) as described above and this css is working, but the resulting image is 117 * 120 instead of 137 * 140.

I can't provide a link to the site unless there's a way to privately send login details as it's currently under maintenance.

Any ideas what's causing the logo size to be incorrect? If I reverse everything as use the normal branding option it's fine.

Sent. I think I've setup a mailbox for that email address since I moved to new hosting! Hosting sites are blocked from work so I can't check.

The clarity wasn't right. Setting the CSS to height: auto, max-width: 100%; corrected it. I thought I'd tried that.
