logo over two sections

Hi Tom, love the theme! I do have some questions regarding smooth scroll etc., but I'll try to figure that out myself first ;-)
Another question: is it possible to stretch a logo over two sections, like in the top left of this image?

The 'start' menu item keeps the active color, is that because the site has just one page?

Yes, that's the current menu item color. You can adjust it in "Customize > Colors > Primary Navigation".
