Logo on Front Page only

Hi,

I've been trying to make my fullscreen Front Page header work for hours now but always seem to run into some kind of trouble.

I tried to upload my desired result as a background image, which got me into all sorts of scaling issues.

Alternatively, I used the site logo to position my desired image correctly.

This got rid of all the scaling issues. However, forcing the logo to be present on all my other pages.

Is there a way to only show the logo on the front page that allows it to scale properly?

Please guide me to the right direction. I'm thinking this is way harder than it should be for a non-techy.
