Simple question here. For the ease of navigating throughout a page while in List View, is there a way to name a Container, or any of the blocks for that matter?
Thanks, Holly

Hi Holly,

Not exactly sure what you are asking here.

Can you explain a bit more or provide an example of what you are trying to achieve?

This is just for "behind the scenes" notation. Not any coding. Just so I can navigate on the page while I work. See attached image. https://prnt.sc/1zpeuqh

That's not possible unfortunately.

I don't believe WP allows this functionality within the block editor.

Thanks! Didn't think so, but was worth asking. Elementor has this feature and it sure makes it easy to work on a page.

No problem :)

I *really* wish WordPress provided this functionality. Totally with you on this one Holly, it'd make life a lot easier.

My workaround is to add an ID to the container.
Go to "Advanced > Html Anchor" to name your container.
Have a look at the screenshot below to see what I mean.

I don't think it was a thing when this topic first came up.
But Thanks for sharing Kelvin - thats the way i do it now :)

WOW! Christmas in May. Thank you, Kelvin. My OCD side can now name my containers.

Generatepress should have a monthly newsletter with tips like this in. For the last couple of years I have been thinking that there should be a simple way to label the tree view just to help thick people like me navigate it more easily. None of us want three emails a day but a once a month email with tips like this would be really useful. I would be astonished if such a newsletter did not increase sales / user engagement.

Thanks for your suggestions!

My local golf club Pro sends me about 2 emails a day I never read any of them - Generatepress is really good software, really poorly marketed.

We spend the majority of our time on development and support over marketing for sure :) Hopefully it can be improved in the future.
