List of latest Posts?

Hello,
I have a Frontpage with Text and I have a page for Blogposts.
Now I would like to put a list with the 10 latest posts on the Frontpage with a link below that to the blog page.
I once done this with WPShow Posts, but as far as I know, we should not use this any more.
Is there a new way to do this with GPB? I checked the free pattern, and the only one I can see for this, is the Magazin Latest Posts.
But this is a little too big for a latest posts list, at least for my taste.
Are there now Pattern coming, maybe with such a latest post list?
