Hello, I’m adding external links to Facebook, Google Sites, Instragram and Pinterest in a post but the link is linking to my personal social media accounts instead of the generic homepage for the social media website. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

    Here’s a link to the post: https://boostyourretirementincome.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3611&action=edit

    Hi Jane,

How are you adding the Social Icons? Can you try adding them as such?: https://youtu.be/yAleVWQi5EA?t=96

No I am not adding icons. I’m just typing the word Facebook and using the link tool to add the link and then when I hover over the word and click the link it takes me to my personal FB login page. I used http://www.facebook.com

Can you provide the link where we can see these social blocks?

You may use the Private Information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/?s=private+information

I put the link to my site in the private section. The problem I’m referring to is in the first paragraph, third line, where the words Facebook, Instagram, Google Sites, or Pinterest appear in blue. I want the links to take the reader to the sites’ homepage but instead the link takes the reader to my personal login page

We can’t view that. The link your sharing would only be visible if we’re logged in to your site.

Can you share the link to the actual page?

Or, can you provide temporary admin credentials?

I hope this works. Thanks for your efforts.

I see. The links are correct. You’re probably logged-in on the browser you’re using which is why it goes to your personal Facebook. Try clicking on the links on incognito mode and see how it goes.
