link icon not available in gallery block

I've got a scrollable carousel on my home page for some of the art prints I sell. I've populated it with images that have links in their descriptions in my media library. The images remain NOT linked within the carousel and when I click the carousel's block, or the main co-block the carousel resides in, the link icon is not visible.
Below carousel are some images in a 4 column layout. When I click those image blocks, the link icon is available in the toolbar that pops up.
It took me awhile to figure out which carousel (or gallery) would look right in both mobile and desktop and this one is the only one that works without squishing or looking weird on mobile.
Can someone tell me what I've done wrong? I'd like that carousel to have links - either to the individual image products, or to the main catagory page.

Hi there,
GP/GB doesn't have gallery or carousel blocks built-in.
Are you referring to the ones from Coblocks?
If so this is something you will need to check with the plugin's support team.
