Im using the lightweight social icons in generate press - i have the premium version. but now for some reason they are not showing the icons in my header just squares. normally they would show a twitter/ Facebook icon etc. The links still work just without an icon there. I have screenshots if this helps. many thanks.

Hi there,

I'm getting this error in Firefox:

Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at http://www.amchimneys.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/lightweight-social-icons/fonts/fontello.ttf?13736647. (Reason: CORS header 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' missing).

Can you check that both of your URLs set in "Settings > General" are the exact same? (Both have or don't have www. etc..).

Then make sure the URL you're visiting the site with is the same as those URLs.

Before I open a new topic. We're having the same issue. After the standard procedure (deactivate and step by step reactivate other plugins) it turned out that somehow "WP Customer area" interferes and makes the icons vanish. https://wp-customerarea.com/support/

I don't know whether GP can do something about it but I thought it's worth mentioning. I will try to get support from their side as well. For the moment we won't reactivate the customer area that fortunately

Thank you.

Hi. I am not seeing the icons now either, however, I did install two new plugins. I want to keep the plugins, so is there a way I can get the icons back? The site is https://liveorretireoverseas.com. Thanks.

Hi there,

Have you tried the solution in the link Tom provided above?

FWIW, check to see if you have an ad blocker set up in your browser. I'm noticing that the AdBlock Plus extension I use for FF blocks LWSI icons on my websites unless I turn it off. See https://forums.lanik.us/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=17545

The problem is that most users visiting my client's websites will never think to disable their ad blocker when social icons aren't visible on the sites.

With so many browsers using ad blockers now, I'm going to need to start using a different solution for social icons.
