License expiry date?

I just purchased GP Premium and now see that the license apparently expires in a year. I thought the license was for lifetime use and only support expired after a year. Does this mean that the theme stops working in a year unless I keep paying for it? Thanks.
Hi there,
the GP Premium plugin will continue to work after your license expires. And you can continue to install that .zip on as many sites as you wish.
Renewal is required if you wish to receive Updates and Premium Support.

Maybe same question here, don't know:
I bought GP Premium in 2015, and I believe it was a "lifetime" and "install as many as you wish" type of license. Now I see it says "Expiration: March 29, 2035" when I log into my account here. And it gives me these two options: "Extend license" and "Upgrade to Lifetime".
What does this mean? What can I extend the license to and what can I upgrade here? Please clarify for me what I bought back in 2015.
So "support" wasn't a part of what I bought back then?
