Hello
I had some trouble with my license,
getting this alertcURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds
when i try to register my generatepress copy
I already ask to my hosting to allow my WordPress installation to communicate with https://generatepress.com using the wp_remote_post function.
They reply to me saying PHP cURL is already on. –> https://cluster020.hosting.ovh.net/infos/

If none of that works, feel free to provide your server IP and we’ll make sure it isn’t blocked by our server.

I just checked with our hosting and they confirmed that the IP you shared is not blocked on our server.
Are you hosted with OVH? If so, we’ve had reports of their hosting not being able to connect to our license key API before. Unfortunately, there isn’t much we can do about it on our end unless there’s a specific IP from their servers that is being blocked.

The site will still be able to use the plugin but it will be able to receive updates through its Dashboard.
You’ll have to manually check and install any updates without it.

Same problem here for one of my customer at OVH.
IP 87.98.154.146
It is on a shared hosting with absolutely no access to any administration function.
Any clue?
I will try to do it again during the night when servers may be less loaded.

As Tom mentioned on one of the previous replies –
… we’ve had reports of their hosting not being able to connect to our license key API before. Unfortunately, there isn’t much we can do about it on our end unless there’s a specific IP from their servers that is being blocked.
We really can’t do anything about this as this is on the host/server end of things.
You’ll have to contact your web hosting service provider to sort this out.

I have written a php script to test cUrl on this website I manage:
It works for external urls I have tested, but it does not work for https://generatepress.com!!
I have opened a ticket at OVH to ask them if they filter cUrl to your IP
Could you please check at Kinsta (I think it is your web hosting provider) if they have blacklisted the IP I have provided above: 87.98.154.146 at OVH

I just spoke with our hosting and they told me that your IP was not blocked on our server.
If your hosting can provide us with a traceroute we can share that info with our hosting to see if they can look into it further.

I did not yet received any answer to my ticket from OVH…
Meanwhile, I used a ssh connection, but it is limited to only local access (no ping or traceroute are allowed).
I will quite you posted if I get new information.

In fact, OVH use a different gateway when a server wants to get outside, as for validating GeneratePress licence.
The gateway for my customer is 91.134.248.211 and as seen on:
https://www.ip-finder.me/91.134.248.211/
https://cleantalk.org/blacklists/91.134.248.211
https://www.abuseipdb.com/check/91.134.248.211this IP adress may be banned by your hosting.
As OVH is a very bad hosting for many other reasons, I have told my customer (and all my OVH customer) to move to another hosting company, and they accepted…

But it still does not work, IP 91.134.248.211 is banned from so many servers…
Do not bother with this issue anymore, at last for me: I am really moving all my OVH customers to another hosting provider.
