Hi,

I am using the "Dev" template for my own website. Now I am looking for an alternative that equals the way "Dev" works.
So I guess I am looking for a template that uses (1) Generateblocks and (2) the block editor the way "Dev" does.

1. Does "Wired" use Generateblocks and the Block editor?
2. Is it possible for "Service" to have a top bar with menu links in it (the way "Catalyst" has)?
3. Is it by all means possible to have slider instead of a static image?

Cheers!

Hi there,

1. Yes, Wired is built using GenerateBlocks and the Block Editor.

2. Yes, you can either:
a) Enable the Themes Top Bar Widget area by adding your a Widget to Customizer > Widgets > Top Bar.

b) Use a Block Element to add your own block built top bar:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-overview/
This method you would select the Hook option and set it to before_header

3. You would need to install a Slider Plugin to do that.

Hi David,

Yeah, top bar widget might be the easiest.
Can the Top bar blocks layout, typographics and colors be set afterwards through the Customizer as well?
In my own live site I don't see an option to do that but I guess that's because I am not using a Top bar block in my site?

Thx for your help!

If you use the Themes Top Bar widget area then there must be a Widget added to it, then you will see the other Customizer > Colors/Typography options for the Top Bar.

If its a Block Element then you can visually edit it 100% using GenerateBlocks.

Unless you want to use some classic widgets ie. not available as blocks, i would go with the Block Element.

Alrighty! Happy with the support. Thanks!

Glad to hear that!
