Left side padding on content,
4 replies · Started by Janet on May 24, 2018
I am very new to this and I'm probably asking a stupid question, but on the home page of the website I'm putting together, I am unable to apply padding to the content on the left side. It is in a section but nothing happens. I would rather not use Elementor if I can help it.
It's me again. The home page is the only page I had trouble with so far and since it was all text, I treated it like a Word document, that is I selected it in the dashboard editor and increased the indent. I think that should work for me for the time being. On with the adventure.

Hi there,
The link to your site isn't working for me.
Can you double check?
We can definitely provide some advice. Website is a bit different than Word.
Let me know :)
Yes, the website went down shortly after I left the last message. I couldn't get in from either direction. Things had been squirrely all afternoon, slow, flickering, etc. I'm using InMotion hosting if it matters. Maybe a touchy server or something. I just logged in to the dashboard and in another tab brought up the front end so it seems fine this morning but was still down last night when I wrapped things up for the day. The indent feature on the editor seems to work okay, and as I said, this page was the only problem. Others worked just fine as they should.

Ok those inline style you've added are bad and you definitely want to remove them.
The content padding can be adjusted in the customizer:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-padding/
Keep in mind that you also have padding applied to the header image:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-padding/
Might also want to decide if you want to use separate containers or one container:

Let me know if this helps.
