Hi GP,

Pagespeed recognizes h1 as a largest element, how can I trick Pagespeed to think of a Paragraph as the largest element, not the h1.

If you checkout ryrob.com/how-start-blog: This URL has successfully tricked Google CORE19. Not sure how could I trick Pagespeed like RyRob did?

Please check it out.
Cheers.
Louis.

Hi there,

LCP is actually based on the size of the element in pixels.
On the ryrob site the H1 doesn't take up as many pixels as his disclaimer paragraph.

So writing a longer paragraph in a larger font nearer to the top of your site should make it the LCP - instead of the H1 or the image as is the case in your site.

I try to smaller the font size, and font weight or even push the layout is little lower.

But I could only see a small 0.2 to 0.5 improvement.

I'm looking for away to push the feature image download little but but it's not available in the layout section.

Is there any ways to do it or other method to improve LCP?

Thank you

I would not focus on the LCP.
Look at what can be done to optimize the site and improve its overall performance.
Run a test on GT Metrix to see which requests are taking the longest time.
